Ryan Broshar Headshot2Ryan Broshar is an entrepreneur at heart who has been working in and with startups for his entire career.

Ryan serves as Founder & Managing Director for the Techstars Retail Accelerator w/ Target and is the Founder & Managing Director for Matchstick Ventures. Founding Matchstick (fka Confluence Capital) in 2013, Ryan created a vehicle to act as a catalyst to investors, fellow tech startups, the local startup community.

Ryan is also Co-Founder of Beta.MN and Twin Cities Startup Week.  These events were created to highlight and spur collaboration in the Twin Cities startup community.

In addition to his work at Matchstick, Ryan is a Founder and Board member for BoomBoom Prints – a social commerce platform for graphic artists to sell their artwork on products to families.  He is an active mentor with TechStars, Gener8tor, and StraightShot tech accelerator programs, and serves as a judge for MN Cup, Startup Weekend and Hack the Gap.

Prior to Matchstick, Ryan was a serial entrepreneur and founded University Guide, LLC – a university-based publishing business – that was eventually sold in 2008.

Ryan is a graduate of the University of Minnesota-Carlson School in Minneapolis with both degrees in Entrepreneurship and Marketing.  He has his MBA from the University of Colorado-Boulder.

Ryan enjoys the outdoors and spending his free time cycling, traveling, and chasing around his three kids. He currently resides in St. Paul, MN. He writes a blog on all things Minnesota startups, technology, and venture capital at www.ryanbroshar.com.
